Roasted Coffee and Ground Coffee conform to the following analytical standards:

Moisture (On Dry Basis) m/m Not more than 5 %
Total Ash (On Dry Basis) m/m 3-6 %
Acid Insoluble (On Dry Basis) m/m Not more than 0.1%
Water Soluble Ash (On Dry Basis) m/m Not less than 65% of total ash
Alkalinity of Soluble Ash in milliliters of 0.1N hydrochloric acid per gram of material (On Dry Basis) m/m Not less than 3.5 ml and not more than 5.0 ml
Aqueous extracts on dry basis m/m Not less than 26% and not more than 35%
Caffeine (anhydrous) on dry basis m/m Not less than 1%

 

Chicory should conform to the following analytical standards: –

Total Ash (On Dry Basis) m/m in diluted HCL Not less than 3.5 % and not more than 8.0 %
Acid Insoluble (On Dry Basis) m/m Not more than 2.5 %
Aqueous extracts (On Dry Basis) m/m Not less than 55%

Coffee – Chicory Mixtures conform to the following analytical standards: –

Coffee Content Not less than 51% by mass
Total Ash (On Dry Basis) m/m Not more than 7.5 %
Acid Insoluble (On Dry Basis) m/m Mot more than 0.6%
Moisture Not more than 5 %
Aqueous extracts (On Dry Basis) m/m Not more than 50%
Caffeine (anhydrous) (On Dry Basis) m/m Not less than 0.6%
